How We Came To Be What We Are Today
Textured-Ceiling-Repair.com has origins that go back as far as 1981 when Vista Drywall Services began servicing clients in West Vancouver and North Vancouver of British Columbia. Vista Drywall Services was a full service drywall and ceiling systems contracting business.
Over time, as the Province went through a major recession in the early 1980’s, Vista Drywall Services expanded to become Calico Gold Building Services. While Calico Gold Building Services continued to provide the full drywall and ceiling systems services, client’s began to ask for more and we responded by introducing full building maintenance and repairs. Our clients were typically churches, schools, strip malls, historical landmarks, and private residences.
As full building maintenance began to take on a life of it’s own in the form of annual commercial contracts, in 1997, the decision was made to create a business under Calico Gold’s banner to focus strictly on commercial building contract maintenance and Lone Star Property Maintenance was born. Lone Star Property Maintenance exploded in popularity, and took on a life of it’s own. In 1992, Lone Star Property Maintenance was sold to owners who wanted to focus on this particular industry niche.
Since the early 1980’s, Calico Gold has continued to focus on the needs of our client’s. Today, the original drywall and ceiling services offered by Vista Drywall Services has remained, but we have tightened our focus to specialize in textured ceiling repair, along with drywall repairs.
Few Drywall Contractors have been in the industry as long as we have been, and consequently, those younger contractors are not familiar with texture products used back as far as the 1970’s, and what it takes today to match these finishes with modern products.
Textured-Ceiling-Repair.com — **What We Do Not Do**
Textured-Ceiling-Repair.com does not provide complete new construction drywall hanging, taping and finishing.
We are repair technicians who are called into jobs which might require: drywall patching; taping and filling of one or two rooms already boarded with drywall; painting; and textured ceiling repairs, or texture applications to match ceiling texture in the rest of the house in one or two freshly drywalled rooms.
We do not get involved in drywall installations requiring more than two 4’x8′ sheets of drywall per job site. (Most Poly B replacement repairs to drywall in a home require less than two full sheets of drywall to complete all patches.) This enables us to send only one man to a job site saving our client’s the extra cost of a second man. (**It is a safety precaution to always send two men to any job which requires work over a 10 foot height.)
